The story
As the story goes, Pauwel Kwak was an innkeeper in the Napoleonic era. Coachmen couldn't leave their carriages, so Kwak had a special round-bottomed glass blown that hung in a wooden stand on the coach. It is probably more marketing than history, but the glass and stand survive to this day, including at our bar.
